home with me

the painting project is about losing the home literally and metaphorically. There are 12 paintings that depict the author’s cherished corners of the apartment where she intended to live. However, she left the country before completing the renovations, and without any plans to return. She felt it was unjust that one couldn't pack the dream home in a suitcase, so she decided to capture a piece of it and live through the loss with the help of art. In these semi-abstract paintings, she employs transparent oil paints and analogous colours to outline the precise geometrical features of her flat. She strives for a balance between meticulousness and simplicity, avoiding both excessive neatness and over-simplicity, thus pursuing a middle path.
